Chennai Super Kings | Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket Team
The Chennai Super Kings proved that they have no intentions of being also rans when they created history by outbidding competitors to have Mahendra Singh Dhoni in their ranks. Apart from being the highest paid star of the league he will also fulfill skipper duties for the team. The MA Chidambaram Stadium will be the home ground.
Coached by former South African cricketer Kepler Wessels, the team makes up for the absence of an Icon Player by having stalwarts like Matthew Hayden, Stephen Fleming, Michael Hussey, Jacob Oram, Makhaya Ntini and Muttiah Muralidharan lending their participation to the Super Kings. The team's name was chosen as a tribute to the rulers of the golden era of Tamil culture.

The talk this year is that Chennai are a complete team? They are blessed with good clean strikers of the ball, perhaps the most imaginative skipper in the game today and to top all that a good crop of Indian players, a magical spinner and without doubt one of the best all-rounder's in the world.
Latest acquisition: Andrew Flintoff joins the ranks. One of the top grossers at the DLF-IPL2, Flintoff is one of those players who grabs your attention and you can be sure he will be keenly watched during the two weeks that he will be in action. Couple Freddy's strengths with Murali's spin magic and you can see the Chennai Super Kings as potential champions in the making
Last year's record: Played: 15, Won: 8, Lost: 6, 1 match abandoned
