Kings XI Punjab | Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket Team
Kings XI describe themselves as Lion-hearted, spirited, passionate, hospitable, entertaining and brave. This team wants to become the most successful and entertaining team in the league.
Batting stalwarts Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakkara and Ramnaresh Sarwan will be expected to deliver alongside smiling assassin Brett Lee, break-dancing S. Sreesanth and Irfan Pathan will spearhead the bowling attack. Tom Moody is designated as the coach, while local favourite Yuvaj Singh is the captain of the starry squad.

Kings Skipper Yuvraj Singh is lucky enough to have a team packed with experience and excitement. With bowling in depth, a strike power in the batters that other teams would die for you would expect Kings XI Punjab to strike fear into the opposition Yet there are signs that this isn't the case they have got some way to go to prove the doubters wrong.
Captain-coach combination: Coach Tom Moody hopped over to Auckland to meet with his skipper Yuvraj Singh. The duo have gelled well as a combination. The much in demand coach with the young combative man in charge make a fine pair. Moody can handle the team because most are his former charges or former teammates. Yuvraj provides the effervescent leadership.
Recent acquisition: Ravi Bopara described as the swiss army knife of the IPL although brought in because he has sikh roots don't make the mistake of thinking that this is all this player has to offer. A useful medium-pacer and a striker to boot, Bopara can be an ideal player for South African conditions.
Bollywood's Preity Zinta, and industrialists Ness Wadia, Mohit Burman and Karan Paul are behind this venture.
Last year's record: Semifinalist, Played: 14, Won: 7, Lost: 7
