Rajasthan Royals | Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket Team
The Pink City of Jaipur is represented by the Rajasthan Royals. At first glance, this team will appear as the underdog. But beware, it is the only team to have a player who will also coach the team. And it is none other than the spin wizard from Down Under - Shane Warne. Warne is also the only non-Indian cricketer to lead a side in the IPL.
The team may not have an Icon Player but it manages a roll call of some of the finest talent in cricket. India's Mohammad Kaif and Munaf Patel will rub shoulders with the likes of Graeme Smith, Justin Langer and Younus Khan. Owned by the Emerging Media Group, the Royals will also field many of India's young guns. The team logo has a lion citing the power of the Royals and the war horn which denotes a war cry. The team will reflect Rajput values of courage and valour.

Considered by many in the inaugral season to be a team of no hopers. This side shocked the world by winning the league. Unfortunately the top two players from last season are out of the frame so the team may well struggle but didn't they say that last year. With Shane Warne in charge expect the unexpected.
Latest acquisition: One of the high-profile buys for Rajasthan Royals is the thunderbolt paceman Shaun Tait. The young express bowler is fighting self-doubts and exile to come back on the big stage. .
Captain-coach combination: Shane Warne. The spin magician casts a spell around his team and manages to coax the best out of everybody. Last year he singlehandedly inspired his side to the title. His little-known players managed to raise their performance level and take it to a new high. In the background his old friend, Darren Berry does all the research on the rivals, while Warne plots the moves.
Last year's results: Played: 14, Won: 6, Lost: 7. 1 abandoned game
